Montblanc ballpoint pen Writers Edition Homage To Robert Loius Stevenson limited edition 129419
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1850, Robert Louis Stevenson longed for two things: freedom and the exhilaration of immersing himself in another world. He wrote essays and travelogues, as well as his legendary adventure stories filled with extraordinary characters whose names sent shivers down the spines of readers around the world: Long John Silver, Captain Flint, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Robert Louis Stevenson is dedicated to this inventive storyteller. Many of this edition's decorative details are inspired by the novel "Treasure Island." The overall shape of the writing instrument, combined with the rings on the cone, recreates the effect of a historical extendable telescope. The black precious resin barrel is decorated with engraved crosses, including a larger "X" similar to those used to mark the location of treasure on a map. The cap of the Writers Edition is adorned with vertical lines reminiscent of the planks of the schooner “Hispaniola” and a traditional treasure chest. Behind the platinum-coated clip, the lines converge to create a compass rose, while the clip itself resembles a cleat, to which the ship’s rigging is attached. The top of the cap is crowned by the Montblanc emblem, decorated with the pirate symbol—a skull and crossbones—elevated at its center. The cap ring is engraved with Stevenson’s signature and the publication date of his first work, “The Pentland Rising,” in 1866. The birth and death years of Robert Louis Stevenson (1850–1894) are engraved on the cap.
