Rum Agricole “Epices Créoles” from the famous JM distillery is a label with a strong personality. It is the spiciest of the vieux rum agricoles produced in the French Antilles. It is a label made in the perfect Martinique style, which is part of the Atelier des Rhums collection, designed to meet the demands of the most demanding professionals in the sector, always looking for high-level excellence and above all with a very precise and particular aromatic connotation. In addition to the use of a high-quality raw material, the rum is made with a distillation process conducted according to the most ancient savoir-faire and with a selection of fine noble woods for aging. “Epices Créoles” Rum Agricole is made by one of the historic distilleries of the Antilles. Jean Marie Martin founded the JM brand in 1845 in Macouba, in the heart of the lush forest of Martinique. The sugar cane is grown on the estate, which, thanks to the ideal climate and volcanic soil, allows for a very high level of quality. The sugar cane juice is extracted and processed within an hour of cutting, in order to preserve the fragrance and aromatic integrity. The distillation takes place using traditional column stills, which guarantee exceptional finesse and freshness. The distillery places great importance on the choice of barrels to use for the refinement of the rums, with a careful selection of the wood essences and types of toasting to be used to obtain the right final result. For this label, a maturation period of at least three years in French oak barrels and toasted American oak was chosen, in order to give the rum its characteristic spicy and smoky notes.
